| So there's this site, whitewatch.com, it basically says that all the worlds problems are caused by white people and depicts them as savages. Great. I couldn't let that slip by, I had to get angry, and I got angry all right. I posted a comment.
Here's the original text of my vitriol-fueled rant, copy-pasted from a Gmail draft I made of it (it made me feel like a big boy to have evidence of my foolhardy-gung-ho-badassery that might not get posted):
This isn't in response to this article in particular, I try not to read much by bigots.
You have got some serious fucking prejudice issues. Y'know who I think "must be pacified and civilized for the betterment of the planet"? Fucking morons like you, you racist little shit. Now, before you even start telling me that *I'm* the racist one, know that I have plenty of Asian and black friends, indeed friends across the cultural and genealogical spectrum. So take a step outside whatever racist little hovel you've been unfortunate enough to find your dumb ass in *before* you position yourself as judge and jury of *anyone*. I dare you post this comment. I dare you *not* to. Hell, I dare you to challenge your perceptions by actually reading this.
And if you think this is another example of a violent and "unenlightened" white male, well maybe it's no wonder this is the type of response you get if you introduce yourself as "a guy who writes a blog calling for the persecution of white people". Or have you not been doing that, when the white cashier serves you at the store, or the white driver lets you pass on the motorway. No banner emblazoned on top of your car "THE WHITES MUST BE PACIFIED"? No? Pretty adolescent, I know, but I was pissed off with this guy and wanted a response.
And here's what got posted: http://whitewatch.wordpress.com/2009/08/22/white-terrorist-sorry-for-vietnam-massacre/#comment-2733
Yes, my comment was edited. I made the dumbass error of using my most common username as well. I hope this doesn't reach my inbox.
So please, take this as a warning, just don't fucking bother with idiots online. I wont again.
Digg this.

| Hmmmmm, I'm very uncertain about this. I mean, yeah, thinking "Man, I'ma play a game" and not having to worry about specs or waiting for it to download sounds fucking awesome, but lag would obviously be a super problem.

I edited the bookmarklet at the below link to my own preferences so that I can use it for sharing links on FB via LJ. I prefer that method to using FB status via twitter sometimes as I can tag specific people on FB to point the link at.
Anywho, the bookmarklet is ( under the cut ) | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |

| When I first saw the headline for this article, my kneejerk reaction was "Shit, another 'Everyone has autism' article", but I was actually comforted to see that "In an accompanying editorial, Professor John Constantino, from Washington University, said that the idea that autism represented the 'severe end' of a natural distribution of abilities could help scientists looking for the genetics underlying the condition, or for ways to treat it."
This is exactly the approach we need to take, in my opinion. Each individual is, we're told, unique. It seems to me that it would follow that traits and behaviour are a part of that. Some are just less common than others.

| At 21:10, I put my newly-purchased LittleBigPlanet disc in. Today is the UK street date for LBP.
Now, I'll admit, I actually had to dust off my DualShock controller and find the box for MGS4. I guess I never took it out after I was finished with it! Not wanting to sound biased against the PS3 already, but I really do prefer the 360 as a platform. It's my choice for crossplatform releases.
2250: I'm finally done with the system update*, the title updates, and the install. I am, apparently, ready to play the game. I've been trained in the art of patience, physically and mentally prepared for my journey.
I guess I didn't need to read the manual on the tram after all :/
*This was only released today, and do... fuck all, apparently. Sony releases a lot of these, it's worth noting, the majority of them seem to do fuck all. See Microsoft's New Xbox Experience coming later this month for comparison | comments: Leave a comment |
| I got sick of reading about how people hate the new Facebook layout when I haven't even seen a good argument against it (note: "Change scares me" and "If it aint broke, don't fix it" are NOT valid arguments, AFAIAC), and so I created a group: The Facebook redesign rocks, never wanted to know you were a vampire anyway.
If you agree with me, please join. It's rare that an intelligent argument will have more supporters than no argument, particularly on the Intrablagowebznet, but I can hope.

| | ... stop slacking off at work and browsing for porn. If you still think the AwesomeBar is some kind of beacon to draw eyes to your historical browsing sins, buy a privacy screen and/or tinfoil hat. THEY CAN READ YOUR THOUGHTS, YOU KNOW :O | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |
| I missed out the main thing I intended to mention in my previous post, which is that I'm really enjoying MGS4 at the moment. Think I'm gonna try and finish it tonight :) Oh, and the 360 should be here tomorrow. Probably have to go to the depot after work to get it. Awesome timing for Bungie Day :D
OH BUNGIE DAY! Cold Storage is out for free and we'll be getting one-day-exclusive gamerpics! So yeah, I'm really hoping I can somehow get my 360 back for then. People think we should have some kind of announcement, too. New content for Halo 3? The Peter Jackson project? All new IP? Release date for Halo Wars? There's a lot of possibilities. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| I gave up with my parents' PC. Didn't have the time, money or patience to go about swap-testing parts to get it to POST. They took it to a shop, the guy gave them some bullshit about a PSU blowing a MB, which then blew another PSU, and when it came home, the RAM was occupying the wrong channel. So we can assume he didn't even read the MB manual. Since then, they've bought a Dell laptop. I'm now responsible for nobody's PC but my own, which is a nice change. To be clear, I carried out the abortive upgrade under duress.
360 has been back several times to MS. When it came back the most recent time, the MB had been replaced, which changed the MAC address and meant that my router stopped trying to bind ports to it by UPnP. Of course, I didn't think to check on UPnP until after I'd called MS, gotten through to second level and demanded a replacement, which they authorised a couple weeks later and is currently happening :) So maybe I'll have teh HDMI port soon.
Work is fucking us over by forcing us all on to this annual hours scheme. We work less during the summer, but we get several weeks worth of 0900-2000 shifts in the winter :( Because, y'know, I always wanted the holiday season to be more shit than it already is, ta.
I'm mainly doing scan ops work recently, because no fucker else is ever in scanops. Out of the four people who permanently work it, one of them was in today. FUCKING ONE. And of the three people absent for various reasons, one of them retires in ~5 weeks.
Ordered another iPod. This is my third 5th gen. Buying a metal case for this one seeing as the last one got mashed to hell, which probably has a lot to do with the problems it's having with reading and writing through USB.
In case it wasn't clear by previous posts, I fell in love with Mass Effect. It's right up there with Gears, Halo and Quake now. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| | Firefox 3 is a fucking delight. Only about 3 addons from Firefox 2 that either don't work or I've not been able to replace (Tab Mix Plus is pretty divine these days) and the browser itself is lightning fast. | comments: Leave a comment |
